Fayemi with President Buhari: wins 12 out 16 LGs: Four years after he was massively rigged out of office by the Goodluck Jonathan-era Peoples Democratic Party, Dr John Kayode Fayemi will return to the Ekiti State Government House in October, to continue his job, where he left off. The former minister of mines and steel, was declared winner of the hotly contested July 14 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, following the collation of the results. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has suspended the sale of the 2018 application forms earlier scheduled to commence on Wednesday, November 22. The spokesperson of the board, Fabian Benjamin, said this in a press statement sent to GLOBALUPDATE Tuesday evening. He noted that the postponement was due to the delay in meeting the agreed deadline by the publisher of the compulsory reading text meant for prospective candidates for the 2018 UTME. The board said the publisher had promised to deliver all the texts on or before the November, 7, 2017.  “As at close of work today, the publisher had not provided the 1.8 million copies required and this development painfully forced to the Board to shift the date from Wednesday 22nd November, 2017 to a date to be announced soon. ”JAMB said it regrets all inconvenience occasioned by this postponement as it is working round the clock to announce a new date soon”, the statement said. A Muslim Professor, Rasheed Jimoh-Ijaodola, has bagged a doctorate degree in Christian studies at the University of Ilorin.   A statement signed by Mr Obajide Ilugbo, Head, Public & External Relations Unit, Office of the Vice-Chancellor says Jimoh-Ijaodola is Professor of Law and  Dean, Oba Erediauwa College of Law of Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State. Report reaching us has it that the academic staff union of universities has resolved to embark on an indefinite strike action. This followed an extensive deliberation that lasted for three days. All members of the union have been directed against going to teach or involving themselves in any academic activity. A document titled “Strike Bulletin No.1”, which was signed and issued by Ogunyemi, ASUU said the strike action was to be a total, comprehensive and indefinite action whereby no form of academic activities including teaching, attendance of any meeting, conduct and supervision of any examination at any level, supervision of project or thesis at any level should take place at any of the nation’s universities. According to the document, all means of negotiation had been exploited before the decision on an indefinite strike action was reached. Deadly Cult Group Badoo Attacks Woman After Night Vigil In Ikorodu     Member s of the Badoo cult disguise d as Cherubim and seraphim members, attacked a woman at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Okin Parish, Igbo Agbowa, Ibeshe, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. According to Punch, a woman, who had attended a vigil in the church, was injured after her head was smashed with a stone. 3 Badoo members were said to have joined the vigil, which ended at 3am on saturday, After the vigil, the cultist struck,  smashing the stone on the head of the woman whose name had yet to be ascertained.
